Stepping Stones Part 2

Hello Friends:

I continue to have more expanded insights into this subject, so there is something to add here.

I said a couple days ago in the Stepping Stones thread that "the point is having fun while we're in this human experience learning about who we really are." This is true, yet there is a purpose, which is ultimately the most fun (P'taah has referred to it as "the only game on the planet"). I think the part that says "learning about who we really are" is more key to having fun than I initially expressed.

"Let me remember that my goal is God."

"All that is needful is to train our minds to overlook all little senseless aims, and to remember that our goal is God. His memory is hidden in our minds, obscured but by our pointless little goals which offer nothing, and do not exist. Shall we continue to allow God's grace to shine in unawareness, while the toys and trinkets of the world are sought instead? God is our only goal, our only Love. We have no aim but to remember Him.

"Our goal is but to follow the way that leads to You. We have no goal but this. What could we want but to remember You? What could we seek but our Identity?" - Lesson 258 of A Course in Miracles

Interestingly I found that this is my lesson for today, and it relates to this thread. It brings home that these distractions that I involve myself in, are not my ultimate goal here. Yet my true goal, the rememberance and identification with God, IS my goal, and is ultimately what I search for in distracting myself to what I think are pleasures, but which are really "pointless little goals which offer nothing."

What can be more fun than peace? What gives me more of an overall feeling of the sublime, of the indescribable pleasure of an ego transcended to Love? There is no greater pleasure that I know, and there is no greater fun than the experience of That.

While I am expressing in this realm as human, and will involve myself in human pleasures, the point is to remember that learning and experiencing and being who I really am (Love) is my goal and is the ultimate pleasure that I'm seeking in all the "toys and trinkets" of the world. When I know that, I can return to that ultimate pleasure of oneness with All That Is.

Much love to you my friends. Let me remember that my goal is God. Ultimately, the stepping stones lead there. Chris
