This is a poem I wrote for my daughter when she was young, and asked one day, "Mom, can a child make a differance, and is love free like the sea? Thought you all might enjoy it.

___ Across Time___

Little tiny pebbles
thrown into the sea.
All around saw not
what the small child dreamed.
The child wanted to make a difference.
He wanted to change the sea.

Time flew by.
Each day the child
tossed his pocket full of pebbles
into the sea.
Each night he dreamed
of changing the sea.

One day a silence came.
The town began to listen.
No water ran.
No ships came.
The sea had changed to rocky cliffs,
Where on a ledge an old man now stood.

He smiled lifting his cane,
and empty pockets to the sky
He said, “You see
Across time,
I made a difference
in this world.
I found love was free,
when I changed the sea.”

People no longer doubted.
They sometimes complained, or just grew still.
But all the old man said,
“Was if you try
Who knows what miracles can be.
Who knows you may even change the sea.”

But why, the town cried.
Why not ask for wealth, love, or fame.
Why not change history instead.
What all knew as stillness came beyond these thoughts,
All these things they too had changed,
because a child dared to move the sea.
